Welcome to the Official Site of Composer Marika Tjelios

Montreal born LA based composer Marika Tjelios is a graduate of Concordia University and Berklee College of Music. In 2008, Marika scored "A Place To Live" a documentary feature which won the Audience Award for Best Documentary at OutFest and Best Documentay Feature Film at Long Beach's QFilm Festival. Marika also provided music for Drift racer Rhys Millen's documentary titled "Mad Skills" as well as Honda Civic's interactive web campaign. She also provided music for Warner's Seasons 1 and 2 DVD releases of "Two and a Half Men". Her first feature film "Street Players" is currently in Post-Production. In 2004 she was commissioned by the Sonoma Film Festival to write a score for the 1915 silent film "A Fool There Was" starring Theda Bara which she performed live at the festival. Along with her composing work Marika produces and engineers in her own Hallway Studio. She produced the debut CD by Melissa Moshé titled "Small World for Left Hands" and has co-produced 2 CDs with Melissa Ferrick. Marika also plays bass for Leda Atomica, who's song "Too Dark For You" won the 2006 Los Angeles Music Award for "Best Alternative Song". Music Connection Magazine has put Leda Atomica on their Hot 100 Unsigned Bands list (Dec.2009). Marika's past credits include touring and recording with Gogh Van Go, Men Without Hats, Sue Medley, Melissa Ferrick and Jariya.
